Making Strides for Sarah
Fundraising for the Sarah Jackson Community Wish is alive and kicking right now.
So many people are stepping up to make a difference in Sarah’s name.
Amie Jordan, a friend of Sarah, is set to tackle the iconic London Marathon this Sunday 21st April, pushing her limits to raise funds for the SJCW. Joining her in the marathon endeavour is Kylie Armitage, Sarah’s sister-in-law, who will be running the Rob Burrows Marathon (her first) on Sunday 12th May. We’re very proud of their commitment.
But the fundraising efforts don’t stop there. A group of local lads and friends of Sarah and her family including Nick Brown, Tom O’Donnell, Jonny Mac, Mark Kilgallon, Chris Hill, Scott Evans, and Paul Nicholson aka Otley’s Finest, are not only taking on the
Rob Burrow Marathon but also the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge the very next day. Their
dedication to both the Rob Burrow Centre for MND and the SJCW is amazing and will
make a huge difference to our local community.
Their efforts kicked off under the sun last weekend as some members of the group
conquered the Ibiza Marathon. Mark’s son, Beauden, also son of Sarah’s good friend
Sarina took part in the children’s race, dedicating his run to the memory of Sarah.
As well as the marathon runners, we’d like to shout out to Rob Tindall, local funeral
director who cared for Sarah after her passing with compassion and professionalism.
Rob is embarking on a remarkable journey, cycling 500 miles around the north coast of
Scotland from May 4th to 10th, with the aim of raising funds for the SJCW. Go Rob!
We’re also incredibly proud of 14-year-old Miller Junni, who has embarked on an extraordinary challenge in memory of Sarah, a cherished family friend. Throughout the month of April, Miller is dedicating himself to running 5K every single day, totalling an impressive 150K. Good luck, Miller – you are truly inspiring!
We’re so grateful to all these incredible people for their tireless efforts in raising funds for the SJCW. Their dedication and determination are an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the impact we can have when we come together.
As these brilliant supporters push themselves, we’d love the community to dig deep and show their support. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us bring Sarah’s light to the community of Otley enabling the SJCW to give a little love.
